History

TCI Cleaning was founded in the beginning of the 80’s and was initially named “LOA ontlak”.

In 1981 TCI Cleaning was founded by Jos Berkers, who after owning the company for 27 years,  handed over the ownership to his son Frans Berkers in January 2009.

Jos started to develop and improve paint stripping techniques in 1980. The new techniques, applications and possibilities soon caught the eyes of many people working in the industrial sector. This attention was mainly caused by the uniqueness of these environmentally safe paint stripping and cleaning processes.

By March 1981 IBM asked TCI Cleaning to chemically paint strip numerous metal cases of typewriters.

By the end of 1982 the increasing request forced us to move our activities to one of the current locations at the Centaurusweg in Tilburg. At this location, Jos immediately installed the first pyrolyse oven in Europe.

In 1983 we expanded by building another hall in which we placed a second pyrolyse oven and an electroforese polishing street.

Subsequently we purchased another area in 1986 to be able to split polishing and depolishing activities. By the end of 1987 we finished the restructuring and “LOA LAK” was born. Previously, LOA LAK has been a sister Company of current TCI Cleaning up until 2007.

TCI Cleaning had become an international organisation.

To realise further growth we established another chemical plant in Dordrecht for Dupont Dordrecht.

The latest expansion in 2007 has been realised by purchasing a neighbouring area at TCI Cleaning Tilburg.  Through the hereby acquired new buildings and surface, we concentrated our processes and techniques. This way we can serve our customers even more efficiently.

By the end of 1990, we had grown into a modern company that makes use of multiple basic processes and countless (surface) treatments. To achieve this, we acquired another hall in 1996.

In 1998 we entered the international market by purchasing “Torpedo”, a Belgian company which had been specialised in a.o.chemical cleaning of filters. This company developed quickly into the current large TCI Cleaning Liège (Luik).
